Tile and Flow

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you may want to know before joining a Tile and Flow session — from beginner readiness and class structure to bookings, private sessions, venue details, and what happens after class.

Learn with clarity. Play with confidence.

Our sessions are designed to make Singapore Mahjong feel approachable, structured, and enjoyable from the very first tile.

01

Getting Started

We teach Singapore Mahjong, with a strong focus on practical play, table confidence, and understanding real-game dynamics.

Not at all. Most of our students are complete beginners. You’ll be guided from the very first tile — clearly, patiently, with no time pressure and no overwhelm.

Yes. Tile and Flow is designed as a structured, trainer-led experience — not a casual “figure it out as you go” session. You’ll understand why you’re doing something, not just what to do.

02

Program Structure

Our core curriculum is designed as a progressive learning journey:

  • Foundation — Understanding tiles, rules, and basic gameplay
  • Strategy — Building confidence, combinations, and decision-making
  • Mastery — Advanced play, scoring, and table awareness

Each session is hands-on, interactive, and guided.

Each level runs 3 hours, allowing you to learn and practice within the same session.

Please arrive 5–10 minutes before the start time. Sessions begin on the dot.

Yes — the 4-hour Fast Track Mahjong Experience is designed for those who prefer an accelerated, immersive format.

03

Class Experience

This is not a casual or club-style learning environment.

  • Structured, trainer-led teaching
  • Small, intimate groups
  • Clear progression and confidence building
  • A refined, welcoming experience

Classes are intentionally kept small, typically 2–4 pax, to ensure personalised attention.

Absolutely. You’ll learn and play in every session — guided step-by-step so you’re never lost.

04

Booking and Groups

All sessions are confirmed upon prepayment. As classes are kept intentionally small, your slot is only reserved once payment has been received.

No. Payments need to be made in advance in order to secure your slot.

Prepayment helps hold your space with certainty and supports the personalised, small-group experience of each session.

Your slot will not be reserved until payment confirmation has been received.

All payments should be made on this website, routed to our business account. Please do not make private transfers to Priyanka.

Yes, although most sessions are booked in small groups. If you’re joining solo, we’ll do our best to match you with others to meet the session minimum. If unsuccessful, Fast Track may be a suitable option.

You will be carefully rescheduled to a matching day and time based on your preference.

05

After the Classes

Yes — supervised game sessions are available, where you play with guidance, corrections, and real-time feedback.

You’ll receive structured guidance during sessions and a refined, intuitive “20 page” Singapore Mahjong handbook for a quick refresh. Regular play is encouraged to stay connected to the game.

Yes — you may book a one-on-one private one-hour refresher session with Priyanka for an efficient start-to-end revision.

06

Practical Details

Sessions are conducted in a modern Singaporean home setting in central Singapore, near Orchard/River Valley, designed to feel comfortable and welcoming.

Yes — light refreshments and beverages are available during sessions to keep the experience comfortable for all participants.

Just yourself — everything else is provided.

07

A Note on Play

The fundamentals remain consistent, but table rules can vary slightly between groups. You’ll be taught how to adapt, because playing well is not just about the tiles — it’s also about reading the table.

08

Still Unsure?

Start with one single session. Many students say the same thing after their first class: “I wish I had done this sooner.” Because once you understand the game, you don’t just keep up — you belong.
